Volunteer Odyssey to Host Virtual Volunteer Day Friday, June 5th

Make a Difference from a Distance

On Friday, June 5th Volunteer Odyssey along with hundreds of others be making a difference from a distance. Every hour from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm Volunteer Odyssey will be spotlighting live from their Facebook page a handful of their nonprofit partners who will walk volunteers through short projects that can be done from home.

Participating nonprofits include: Spreading Sunshine, the Levitt Shell, Memphis Botanic Garden, Room in the Inn, Overton Park, Child Advocacy Center, MIFA, Wolf River Conservancy and Memphis Transformed. Whether your inner environmentalist is itching to clear your neighborhood storm drain, or you’re looking to get crafty with some of your family’s youngest volunteers by creating accordion butterflies out of old magazines, there’s something for everyone.

Can’t decide which volunteer project to do? Not to worry, you can participate in them all if you like. Just be sure to share your projects and impact on social media by using #VolunteerOdyssey and tagging the benefitting nonprofit. Don’t live in Memphis? No problem. Volunteer Odyssey has made it easy for volunteers to participate near and far by providing four completely virtual projects. Are you a student in need of completing some last-minute service hours? Volunteer Odyssey has you covered. Each completed project posted on social media counts as one service hour. Just email Nikole@volunteerodyssey.com for more information.

Once you’ve completed your volunteer projects Volunteer Odyssey invites you to attend the Levitt Shell’s After Party from the comfort of your own home via their Orion Virtual Concert Series.
