The SPARK Awards 2020: Dr. Kandi Hill-Clarke

Congratulations to Dr. Kandi Hill-Clarke for receiving The SPARK Awards 2020 Education Leadership Award for her philanthropic work in our community.
 
Dr. Kandi Hill-Clarke has exemplified exceptional educational leadership since her return to Memphis in January 2017. As Dean of the University of Memphis College of Education at the University of Memphis, Dr. Hill-Clarke has worked to lead the College’s efforts to fulfill a vision that is “Driven by a commitment to diversity, social justice and equity to help the College become a premier educational organization that engages in innovative and impactful research, teaching and service.”
 
In regards to her philanthropic leadership, Dean Hill-Clarke has engaged the greater Memphis community to commit to $6.3 million for the River City Partnership to prepare the next generation of urban educators for Memphis. From January 2019 to July 2020, her leadership has helped the College secure $2.1 million in funding and development support, which represents an increase of 40% over the previous year.
