Congratulations to Bill Sehnert for receiving The SPARK Awards 2020 Legacy Award for their lasting philanthropic work in our community.
Serving as Executive Director of the Peer Power Foundation since its conception, he has demonstrated exceptional philanthropic leadership for 16 years. Peer Power has gone from an idea to a non-profit with over a million-dollar annual operating budget.
Under his direction, Peer Power has multiplied its impact in the greater Memphis area to serve over 15,000 students extending its reach in 7 high schools and 1 middle school. Bill’s commitment to serving as a catalyst to economically empower Memphis youth as Peer Power serves over 1500 college students existing as a resource that gives gainful employment and decreases the need for student loans. Furthermore, Bill has led Peer Power’s partnership with the University of Memphis creating a dual enrollment program that gives high school students the opportunity to learn business and economic principles while gaining college credit.
“Bill has shown through his efforts of volunteerism and activism that he is dedicated to leaving an impressionable mark wherever his journey takes him.”
