Girls on the Run Memphis – Inspires Girls to be Joyful, Healthy and Confident

We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Joanna Lipman, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Memphis, who highlights their program and efforts to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. During the interview, Lipman talks about the growing need for volunteers and how the program impacts girls and opens new opportunities, along with offering a recap of the Fall season and a glance ahead to the Spring season where both virtual and in person sessions will be presented.

At Girls on the Run we inspire ALL girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions, while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills in every girl while encouraging healthy habits for life.

Girls on the Run Memphis is a transformational physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grade. We teach life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with a celebratory 5k.
