Pitts Memphis 3-Peat: January – February 2021
Johnny Pitts here with cityCURRENT, powered by Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, to bring you the monthly Pitts 3Peat. I challenge you to take 3 minutes to tell 3 people 3 positives and then challenge them to do the same. YOU and the people around you will Power the Good, spreading good news everywhere you go!
Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, the largest independent broker in Tennessee, has merged with Higginbotham Insurance Group, the largest independent broker in Texas to become the 15th largest independent broker in the nation! We are thrilled about this new partnership and the many benefits, resources and horsepower we’re able to bring to our clients and employees.
The “Hospital from Home” program at Baptist Memorial Health Care will allow Baptist healthcare workers to treat certain patients from the patients’ home, who otherwise might require a hospital stay. Being able to treat patients at their homes, gives the patient a familiar atmosphere while freeing up beds for those who are extremely sick.
Once again, the Mid-South’s generosity shined brighter than ever during the current pandemic. The Mid-South Food Bank, through local support, distributed more than five million pounds of food each month to those in need, due to the COVID-19 shutdowns.
And St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, although having to cancel multiple fundraising events, was supported by donors to the tune of $1.5 million, during their Dream Home Giveaway! As you know, families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food from St. Jude. For good reason, the Chronicle of Philanthropy regularly ranks Memphis as one of the most charitable cities in America with an average of nearly 6% of household income donated to non-profits, the highest in the nation.
