Park talks with Karl Schledwitz, Chairman and CEO of Monogram Food Solutions, who highlights the growth of the privately held, Memphis, Tennessee-based, manufacturer and marketer of packaged and value-added foods. Monogram Foods manufactures a number of items, including beef jerky, pre-cooked bacon, smoked sausage, corn dogs, frozen appetizers, assembled sandwiches, and baked goods. During the interview, Karl shares the exciting news of reaching “unicorn” status in the business world as a privately-held company that surpasses $1B in valuation. He talks about what the growth means for new jobs, internships and other opportunities, as well as what it means for their ability to give back and make a difference with their philanthropic efforts. They recently endowed their Monogram Loves Kids Foundation, which was established in 2010 and now has raised more than $15 M to support children’s charities in areas of the country where Monogram team members live and work. Karl talks about their foundation and big upcoming event, the Meat Me in Memphis Gala, which takes place Thursday, March 24 at the Renasant Convention Center in Memphis, TN. The event will feature local chefs serving up custom creations, an open bar, live music, silent and live auctions, and more, in order to raise money to support children’s charities.
