East Nashville Hope Exchange: Youth Literacy Efforts

A nonprofit organization with the mission of strengthening literacy of at-risk children in East Nashville.

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Annie Youngblood, Board President of East Nashville Hope Exchange, who highlights the nonprofit’s mission of “strengthening literacy of at-risk children in East Nashville” and their efforts to provide a supportive, structured and safe environment where children can learn and have fun. During the interview, Annie discusses their no-cost 6-week summer program for rising kindergarten through 5th graders, which focuses on strengthening literacy levels and helping students engage with their community in a meaningful way. She also spotlights their school year program with monthly family engagement events, tutoring, and reading buddies to engage families for the entire year.
