Johnny Pitts here with cityCURRENT, powered by Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, to bring you the monthly 3-Peat. Take 3 minutes to tell 3 people 3 positives about Memphis!

1. Memphis Gets to Work! The Greater Memphis Chamber recently announced in their June Jobs Briefing for Memphis MSA that the Memphis job growth outpaced the US national job growth adding 1,900 jobs in June and setting a new all-time record high with 661,700 jobs!

2. Congratulations to Memphis’ own, Willy Wonka! Phillip Ashley Rix of Phillip Ashley Chocolates was recently featured in Bloomberg Magazine for his Black-Owned Chocolate Brand winning fans with Margarita and Truffle Flavors. Phillip Ashley Rix started out by selling his chocolates from the trunk of his four-door sedan. Now he’s got a partnership with one of the most legendary names in automotive history: In June, Rix was named the exclusive chocolatier of Cadillac.

Phillip Ashley has unique flavors like Fried Chicken Chocolate, Blood Orange Guava, Whiskey flavors, and more.

3. Where there’s a Will, there’s a way! Will Zalatoris had the most money and the best world ranking of anyone without a PGA TOUR victory. He changed that Sunday by winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship without making birdie in a three-hole playoff.

Additionally, the FedEx St. Jude Championship is estimated to have brought in an economic boost of over $50 million this year and shine a spotlight on the life-saving work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
