Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Nicole Rowan, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Nashville, who highlights the nonprofit’s efforts to restore, rebuild and perform essential repairs at homes of qualifying area residents. For more than 20 years, Rebuilding Together has served the Nashville community by helping to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods. During the interview, Nicole offers some history and context for the organization, and talks about some of the common repairs, which include floor repairs, accessibility modifications for seniors, plumbing work, electrical work, roof repair, and the addition or repair of exterior wheelchair ramps. Nicole talks about how homeowners qualify for their services, the important role that volunteers play with their efforts, and the impact their work has on the individuals and families served and the community, at large. Rebuilding Together is currently working in the Greater Bordeaux community, and during the interview, Nicole shares the news of which communities will be next.
