Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Keith Blanchard, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis, who highlights their mission and efforts to enable all young people, especially those who need the organization the most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. During the interview, Keith shares some of the local history dating back to 1962, and talks about their growth and program development, which focuses on core areas including Education and Leadership, Character Development, Healthy Life Choices, Career Awareness, Athletics, and the Arts. He talks about their recent expansion into Memphis/Shelby County High Schools, which brings their total number of Clubs to 19 and a Technical Training Center, and then talks about their increased focus on career exploration and workforce development, and why that’s so important for our community. He also discusses ways businesses can support their efforts by hosting tours for the youth, speaking to groups, and helping to increase access and awareness for career possibilities.
