Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Anita Shimirimana, who shares her story of coming to the United States in 2007 from a Tanzania refugee camp, working as a caregiver while working on her bachelor’s in healthcare administration, getting her MBA and launching two businesses, Able Helpers Homecare and Christ Home Care.

During the interview, Anita discusses how the mission at both entities is to serve and make an impact on clients who need care in the comfort of their own home. Able Helpers Homecare offers non-medical home care and focuses on serving people who are on Medicaid. Services include meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping, medication reminder, assist with bath, dressing, toileting, transfer and more activities of daily living. Christ Home Care focuses mainly on private pay clients and work comp clients. During the interview, Anita shares tips for selecting the right home care provider, talks about plans for the future, and offers advice for other entrepreneurs.
