Hope for Justice – Efforts to fight human trafficking

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Sarah Butler, United States Program Director with Hope for Justice, and Kristie Tagg, Chief Development Officer, who highlight the nonprofit organization fighting human trafficking and helping victims and survivors all around the world. Hope for Justice exists to bring an end to modern slavery by preventing exploitation, rescuing victims, restoring lives, and reforming society.

During the interview, Sarah discusses their efforts nationally and across the state of Tennessee, including the number of victim recoveries, referrals, new cases and individuals trained. She talks about how human trafficking is defined and how it looks different in different areas of the world and country, how they work with law enforcement and other organizations to help victims, and how they are expanding their impact through legislation, as well. Then, Kristie talks about some of the many ways the community can support their efforts through donations, volunteerism and special events, including an event at the Kendra Scott Nashville store on February 13, 2023 and a Break the Cycle event in September.
