Memphis Black Arts Alliance: 40+ years of serving the community.

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Lar’Juanette Williams, Executive Director of Memphis Black Arts Alliance, who shares some of her personal story and background as an artist and someone who benefited from Memphis Black Arts Alliance, and then highlights the nonprofit organization and their efforts to improve the quality of life and economic wellbeing of Greater Memphis through the preservation, celebration and advancement of African American arts, literature, and culture. The organization has been serving the community for more than 40 years and inspires, educates, and engages artists, arts organizations, and audiences toward the creation of just and equitable communities through creative, forward-thinking and shared cultural experiences.

During the interview, Lar’Juanette talks about their efforts and impact, some of their programs and the importance of supporting the arts in Memphis, and how the community can get involved.
