Co-Response programs with Mental Health Cooperative

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Aisha Robinzine, Co-Response Supervisor with Mental Health Cooperative (MHC), who highlights the Middle Tennessee based organization that offers innovative, trauma-informed and person-centered behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and adults, and then discusses their Co-Response programs. The Co-Response programs refer to MHC’s Master’s level clinicians riding along with police officers and EMS staff to respond to calls for service.

During the interview, Aisha shares how the team responds to calls for services where individuals are suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, or don’t have the ability to care for themselves. She talks about their mission to walk with people from crisis to hope with compassion, dignity, and creative collaboration. Aisha also discusses how the programs have impacted the police officers and community at large, and how the community can support their efforts.
