The Tennessee Business Roundtable (TBR) develops and advocates for pro-business public policy that optimizes the quality of life and well-being of all Tennesseans. Founded in 1983, TBR has partnered successfully with five Governors and hundreds of business, no-profit, academic, and government stakeholders to create and promote policies that have contributed significantly to the success of the Volunteer State’s economy and people, particularly in public education.
December 19, 2018 – Business and political leaders joined the Tennessee Business Roundtable (“TBR”; “the Roundtable”) today in celebrating the nonprofit state business policy organization’s thirty-fifth anniversary by recalling the group’s formation, policy achievements and outlook for the future.
Since its inception, TBR leaders have understood the need for a robust education system. In order to have a thriving economy, an educated populace is a necessity. Rigorous standards, high expectations of students, and aligned assessments are the building blocks of a prepared workforce. TBR helps to ensure that Tennesseans are graduating with the skills necessary to be successful.
