DESCRIPTION:This luncheon brings together 2 of cityCURRENT’s Strategic Focuses: \n\n\n		\n\nStrategic Corporate Philanthropy\nCommunity Collaboration – The diverse group of women will serve as a brain trust and aid in information sharing which will\, in turn\, help cityCURRENT serve Middle TN.\n\n\n		\n	\n\nFor convenience\, the lunches are set up as Dutch treat. \n \nOur woman focused spotlight nonprofit for this lunch will be This is Living Ministries. \nWomen with a heart to see lives restored met as a group of jail ministry volunteers in 2016. We all felt passionate about helping people after incarceration. As we were seeking to find resources for the ladies & men after incarceration\, we realized there was a huge need for housing\, training\, clothing\, and spiritual formation. With a recidivism rate of 86% in our surrounding rural county jails and a recidivism rate of nearly 50% in our state prisons\, we decided to turn our vision into a mission. We started with an outreach discipleship class once a week\, and we volunteered to take them to services and provide the means to pay for the services. After a few years of experience helping after incarceration\, research and development\, and training with multiple re-entry programs\, we opened the doors to our first re-entry home in 2019!

DESCRIPTION:VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!\nJoin us for a morning of service at cityCURRENT’s Samaritan’s Feet shoe distribution in partnership with Nashville Inner City Ministry! This event is always a favorite\, and we’ll be serving hundreds of kids from Inner City Ministry\, who’ve been selected based on their need. \nWe need volunteers in many capacities like event prep\, registration\, and greeting\, foot washing\, event logistics\, handing out snacks\, playing games with kids and more! \nThe goal of this event is to bring a message of hope\, love\, and compassion to everyone served. Every time we sit across from a child\, we not only seek to meet their physical needs with a new pair of shoes and socks\, but we spend quality time with them asking about their dreams and their lives and seek to build relationships. \nAGENDA: \n\n8:00 AM    Volunteers arrive for training and job assignments.\n8:00-9:00 AM:   Event Prep and Set-up (shoe sorting\, wash station set up\, snack table set up\, game set up\, etc.)\n9:00-9:30 AM:   Short Program to share the Samaritan’s Feet story and equip volunteers to interact with the kids\n9:30-11:30 AM:   Foot Washing (volunteers are needed to be washers\, we’ll also need other volunteers to help run check-in\, monitor the shoes\, help with fittings\, change out the water\, play games with kids\, and more)\n\nIf you can participate in any capacity\, please register and come whenever is best for you. There are no time requirements so you can help for any window of time between 8:00-11:30 AM. Foot washing is for adults (18+)\, but we have many activities for volunteers under 18. An adult must accompany all volunteers under 16. This is a fun and impactful way for you and your team\, family\, and friends to make a difference and give back to your community so please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who you think might be interested. We hope you will join us! \nFAQS: \nWhat should I wear? Plan to wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in – jeans\, slacks\, fingertip-length shorts\, and sneakers.  If you are serving as part of an organization\, company\, church\, etc.\, feel free to represent your group by wearing a T-shirt bearing your group’s logo. \nIs there an age limit to serve?  We love it when families serve together!  Parents/guardians will be asked to sign a release form (available at the event) for children under 18.  Generally\, children under 13 prefer to serve alongside their parent.  Older kids like to choose their own job. \nThank you again for choosing to spend your time joining Samaritan’s Feet in serving others\, we couldn’t impact the community without you!

Through 2021\, Impact100 Nashville has given $573\,000 in grant funds to deserving non-profits. \nThrough collaborative philanthropy\, our mission is to build a dynamic and diverse membership of generous women who accelerate positive social change in the greater Nashville area.

JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks\, manage restaurants\, write checks\, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. \nJunior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. The inspiration piece comes from community volunteers who not only deliver our lessons\, but share their experience. In the process\, these volunteers serve as role models helping to positively impact young people’s perceptions about the importance of education\, as well as critical life skills. Preparation involves our proven lessons that promote financial capability\, work and career readiness\, and business ownership. \nJunior Achievement’s proven lessons in financial literacy\, work and career readiness\, and entrepreneurship are shown to positively impact the lives of young people. These lessons align with national and state educational standards and are delivered to millions of students across the country with the help of our education partners and volunteers from the local community. \nThere is no cost to attend but you must pre-register.\nLunch will be provide.
