DESCRIPTION:This luncheon brings together 2 of cityCURRENT’s Strategic Focuses: \n\n\n		\n\nStrategic Corporate Philanthropy\nCommunity Collaboration – The diverse group of women will serve as a brain trust and aid in information sharing which will\, in turn\, help cityCURRENT serve Middle TN.\n\n\n		\n	\n\nFor convenience\, the lunches are set up as Dutch treat. \nOur Featured Nonprofit for this luncheon: \n \nOur goal is to help at- risk girls recognize vulnerabilities in their history\, educate them on potential negative consequences of these issues\, and give them opportunities to connect with resources. \nWe work collaboratively with juvenile probation/court\, detention\, foster care agencies\, at-risk youth programs and the department of children’s services. \n52% of the girls we see ask for opportunities to connect with adult mentors to help provide stability and encouragement.  Short term data in collaboration with Davidson county juvenile court probation has shown that girls who take the epic girl identity training are less likely to re-enter the court system.

We all felt passionate about helping people after incarceration. As we were seeking to find resources for the ladies & men after incarceration\, we realized there was a huge need for housing\, training\, clothing\, and spiritual formation. With a recidivism rate of 86% in our surrounding rural county jails and a recidivism rate of nearly 50% in our state prisons\, we decided to turn our vision into a mission. We started with an outreach discipleship class once a week\, and we volunteered to take them to services and provide the means to pay for the services. After a few years of experience helping after incarceration\, research and development\, and training with multiple re-entry programs\, we opened the doors to our first re-entry home in 2019!
