The mission of Interfaith Dental Clinic is to create a healthier community by providing transformational oral health care for those experiencing poverty and sustain a healthy smile. \nAfter doing volunteer dentistry in third-world countries\, our founder Dr. Tom Underwood realized that there were hardworking people right here in Middle Tennessee that were in just as desperate need of dental care but could not afford it. With the help of the Nashville Dental Society and the Outreach Commission of West End United Methodist Church\, Dr. Underwood initiated Interfaith Dental Clinic in November 1994 to provide affordable dental care for working poor families and the elderly who fall between the cracks of private practice and public healthcare. \nThere is no cost to attend but you must pre-register. \n*Lunch will be provided

DESCRIPTION:VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!\nJoin us for a morning of service at cityCURRENT’s Samaritan’s Feet shoe distribution in partnership with Nashville Inner City Ministry! This event is always a favorite\, and we’ll be serving hundreds of kids from Inner City Ministry\, who’ve been selected based on their need. \nWe need volunteers in many capacities like event prep\, registration\, and greeting\, foot washing\, event logistics\, handing out snacks\, playing games with kids and more! \nThe goal of this event is to bring a message of hope\, love\, and compassion to everyone served. Every time we sit across from a child\, we not only seek to meet their physical needs with a new pair of shoes and socks\, but we spend quality time with them asking about their dreams and their lives and seek to build relationships. \nAGENDA: \n\n8:00 AM    Volunteers arrive for training and job assignments.\n8:00-9:00 AM:   Event Prep and Set-up (shoe sorting\, wash station set up\, snack table set up\, game set up\, etc.)\n9:00-9:30 AM:   Short Program to share the Samaritan’s Feet story and equip volunteers to interact with the kids\n9:30-11:30 AM:   Foot Washing (volunteers are needed to be washers\, we’ll also need other volunteers to help run check-in\, monitor the shoes\, help with fittings\, change out the water\, play games with kids\, and more)\n\nIf you can participate in any capacity\, please register and come whenever is best for you. There are no time requirements so you can help for any window of time between 8:00-11:30 AM. Foot washing is for adults (18+)\, but we have many activities for volunteers under 18. An adult must accompany all volunteers under 16. This is a fun and impactful way for you and your team\, family\, and friends to make a difference and give back to your community so please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who you think might be interested. We hope you will join us! \nFAQS: \nWhat should I wear? Plan to wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in – jeans\, slacks\, fingertip-length shorts\, and sneakers.  If you are serving as part of an organization\, company\, church\, etc.\, feel free to represent your group by wearing a T-shirt bearing your group’s logo. \nIs there an age limit to serve?  We love it when families serve together!  Parents/guardians will be asked to sign a release form (available at the event) for children under 18.  Generally\, children under 13 prefer to serve alongside their parent.  Older kids like to choose their own job. \nThank you again for choosing to spend your time joining Samaritan’s Feet in serving others\, we couldn’t impact the community without you!

DESCRIPTION:This luncheon brings together 2 of cityCURRENT’s Strategic Focuses: \n\n\n		\n\nStrategic Corporate Philanthropy\nCommunity Collaboration – The diverse group of women will serve as a brain trust and aid in information sharing which will\, in turn\, help cityCURRENT serve Middle TN.\n\n\n		\n	\n\nFor convenience\, the lunches are set up as Dutch treat. \nOur featured woman focused nonprofit for this lunch will be Impact 100 Nashville\, established in the fall of 2014 when Founding President Jolene Skinner shared her prior experiences in the Impact100 Austin chapter with the women who would become the founding board of Impact100 Nashville: Mollie Lacher (past-president)\, Michele Herlein (immediate past-president)\, Meghan Breinig\, Trish Holliday\, and Leah Willingham. \nSince its inception\, Impact100 Nashville has empowered a diverse local group of women of all ages\, stages in life\, income levels\, and backgrounds to come together to fund transformational grants of $100\,000 in the Greater Nashville region comprised of the 10 counties including and surrounding Nashville (Cheatham\, Davidson\, Dickson\, Maury\, Montgomery\, Robertson\, Rutherford\, Sumner\, Williamson\, Wilson). Through 2021\, Impact100 Nashville has given $573\,000 in grant funds to deserving non-profits. \nThrough collaborative philanthropy\, our mission is to build a dynamic and diverse membership of generous women who accelerate positive social change in the greater Nashville area.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, August 25 at Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee\, hosted by Delta Dental of Tennessee\, for a lunch & learn and tour of their facility and BizTown. JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks\, manage restaurants\, write checks\, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. \nJunior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. The inspiration piece comes from community volunteers who not only deliver our lessons\, but share their experience. In the process\, these volunteers serve as role models helping to positively impact young people’s perceptions about the importance of education\, as well as critical life skills. Preparation involves our proven lessons that promote financial capability\, work and career readiness\, and business ownership. \nJunior Achievement’s proven lessons in financial literacy\, work and career readiness\, and entrepreneurship are shown to positively impact the lives of young people. These lessons align with national and state educational standards and are delivered to millions of students across the country with the help of our education partners and volunteers from the local community. \nThere is no cost to attend but you must pre-register.\nLunch will be provide.
