Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Dr. Tracy D. Hall, President of Southwest Tennessee Community College, who discusses the importance of being the go-to for accessible, affordable two-year degree and short-term certificates that offer workforce preparation in the Mid-South.
During the interview, Dr. Hall talks about shifts in student learning and needs during the pandemic and now coming out, and then how that translates to a need to offer streamlined, career-oriented pathways, increased accessibility and more workforce-accelerated programs and schedules.
Dr. Hall then introduces their newest program, their Aviation Operations Technology program, which offers three concentrations, 1) professional pilot, 2) flight dispatcher, or 3) aviation administration professional. She talks about the significance of this program and what it means for opening access to students. Dr. Hall also talks about the affordability of Southwest Tennessee Community College with eligible students able to receive financial assistance to attend tuition-free through TN Promise and TN Reconnect.
