Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Justin Levy, Executive Director of Conscious Alliance, who shares some of his personal story and purpose for making a difference and what led to starting the organization using art and audiences to help end hunger in underserved communities across the nation. During the interview, Justin discusses how they collaborate with musicians to host Art That Feeds food drives at concerts and music festivals; how they collaborate with graphic designers to create fundraising posters and merchandise; how they encourage individuals, companies, and grant-makers to support their efforts; and how they partner with food brands to collect large-scale grocery donations. He also talks about how they work with Hunger Heros to distribute the food, how concert-goers and volunteers can engage and support their efforts, and how they have now surpassed 10 million meals served.
We feed families in communities that need it most. Our network of creative people — artists, musicians, food makers, and fans — use their time and talents to make that happen.
Our alliance empowers young people to make a tangible difference in the lives of people in underserved communities.
WE GATHER FOOD DONATIONS IN 3 WAYS:
- Collaborating with musicians to host ‘Art That Feeds’ Food Drives at concerts and music festivals.
- Partnering with food brands to collect large-scale donations.
- Encouraging individuals, companies, and grant-makers to support our efforts financially.
With the resources in place, we handle the logistics — sorting, packing, and moving truckloads of healthy food to communities in need.
