International Paper’s Philanthropic Efforts Global and Local
We mobilize our people, products and resources to address critical community needs around four signature causes: education, hunger, health & wellness and disaster relief.
Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Rachel Ozols Purdom, Community Engagement Manager for International Paper, who highlights the Memphis, Tennessee based company that is one of the world’s leading producers of fiber-based packaging and pulp.
During the interview, Rachel talks about their community engagement initiatives, areas of focus, and examples of their efforts and impact globally, nationally and locally in the Mid-South. She discusses some recent recognition from the American Forest and Paper Association, which recently honored International Paper with the first sustainability award in the category of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for their project, “Fighting Period Poverty in Our Communities.” Rachel concludes by sharing some of the lessons learned in her work with nonprofits, and words of encouragement for other corporate leaders to take action and get involved in making a difference to help lift our communities.
