Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Laurie Powell, CEO of Alliance Healthcare Services, who highlights the nonprofit organization that has been serving the mental health needs of the Memphis community and beyond for 50 years. Alliance Healthcare Services is the largest comprehensive behavioral health provider in Shelby County.

During the interview, Laurie discusses some of their different programs, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, home-based, and community based programs, along with a continuum of crisis services to more than 22,000 residents of Shelby County and the surrounding areas. She spotlights the new, state-of-the-art, 55,000 square feet, 24 Hour Crisis Center that will be opening next year, and what it will mean for the community. Laurie also talks about the expansion for children and youth services, working with law enforcement and fire departments on co-response to crisis situations, and the importance of taking a long-term approach to walking alongside and helping individuals and families on their journey to recovery and healing. She wraps up talking about the increased need for mental health services and support and how the community can get involved through The Alliance Foundation.
