World Relief Memphis, helping immigrants find hope, community

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with PJ Moore, Executive Director of World Relief Memphis, along with Dr. Wayne Denny, Church and Community Engagement Director, who both highlight the nonprofit organization focused on creating communities of love and compassion by partnering with the US Department of State and others to support immigrants and to help them find hope and rebuild their lives in the Mid-South.

During the interview, PJ and Dr. Denny share some of the history for World Relief and how the organization was brought to Memphis. They talk about the importance of helping and welcoming immigrants, who have been forced, or made the painful choice, to leave their home, as they search for a safe place to rebuild their lives. They talk about their model and how they partner with the US Department of State, how they work with churches and are powered by volunteers, who want to make a difference. They share some success stories of families impacted, and also talk about how their work impacts the volunteers and builds a stronger, more loving and compassionate community. PJ and Dr. Denny wrap up talking about how the community can support their efforts through volunteerism, advocacy, job opportunities with employers and basic necessities to furnish apartments and more.
