Join us Wednesday, November 5 from 10:00 – 11:30 AM for a tour inside Freedom Prep Academy – Westwood Elementary and experience what Level 5 learning looks like, feels like, and sounds like. Principal Dr. Arthur Rosenthal and Johnecia Howard, Executive Director of Freedom Prep Tennessee, will guide us through an interactive walk-through of their campus, where you’ll see students and teachers in action and the systems that power their success.
Founded in 2009, Freedom Preparatory Academy is a growing network of public charter schools serving PreK–12 students in Memphis, TN, Birmingham, AL, and soon Montgomery, AL. Their mission is simple and urgent: prepare all students to excel in college and in life. On this tour, you’ll see how that mission comes alive—from rigorous instruction and data-informed teaching to joyful classrooms and a culture that sets high expectations and wraps students in support.
Your visit begins with a brief welcome and context for their Level 5 results, followed by classroom observations where you’ll witness purposeful lessons, small-group learning, and students owning their growth. Along the way, you’ll meet educators and scholars, view their college-going culture in hallways and homerooms, and learn how they partner with families to remove barriers and open doors. We’ll close with a candid Q&A with leadership on what it takes to sustain excellence and scale it across communities.
