Chesney is known for his memoir, No Ordinary Dog: My Partner from the SEAL Teams to the Bin Laden Raid, which chronicles his extraordinary experiences as a Navy SEAL and his deep bond with his military working dog, Cairo, who participated in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden.
Hosted by ServiceMaster by Cornerstone, this virtual event spotlights one of America’s quiet professionals whose service helped shape history. A Texas native, Will Chesney joined the U.S. Navy in 2002 and served more than a decade as a SEAL, deploying multiple times worldwide. Much of his career was spent as an operator and military working dog handler with DEVGRU (SEAL Team Six), where he and his Belgian Malinois, Cairo, completed hundreds of missions together, including the historic operation to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden. Their work exemplified teamwork, trust, and courage under the most extreme circumstances.
After sustaining injuries from a grenade explosion in 2012, Chesney medically retired following 13 years of service and was awarded numerous commendations, including a Silver Star and Purple Heart. Today, he is deeply committed to helping fellow veterans who suffer from Traumatic Brain Injury, using his own journey to advocate, educate, and inspire.
Chesney will share stories of leadership, resilience, and reliance on the team around you when the stakes are highest. He’ll share special moments and lessons learned working with Cairo. His message will be a powerful reminder that perseverance, purpose, teamwork, and a never-quit mindset can carry us through even the most impossible moments.
