Arlie Haddix highlights Operation Stand Down Tennessee, helping veterans through career transitions

Host Jeremy C. Park interviews Arlie Haddix, a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and CEO of Operation Stand Down Tennessee, who shares his personal story of transitioning from the military and highlights the nonprofit organization’s work supporting military veterans and their family members. Arlie explained that Operation Stand Down Tennessee helps veterans through three main areas: career transition, connection building, and crisis assistance, serving both through brick-and-mortar service centers in Nashville, Clarksville, and Columbia, as well as a “hub and spoke” model using two mobile units called “Turtles” that reach 11 rural areas, in total allowing the organization to serve 31 counties across Tennessee.

The organization recently received VA approval to pilot this mobile service model in additional counties, marking an innovative approach to reaching veterans in rural areas. Arlie emphasizes the importance of connecting with veterans who have served in the military and encouraging them to reach out to organizations like Operation Stand Down Tennessee to prevent long-term crisis situations.
