Volunteer Opportunity: Shoe Distribution at Eakin Elementary

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Join us for a meaningful morning of service at the Eakin Elementary shoe distribution! In partnership with Bedford County Schools, Soles4Souls, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, World Literacy Foundation, Commissioner Gregory Vick, and cityCURRENT, we’re coming together to make a difference—one pair of shoes at a time.

Along with providing brand-new shoes to students, we’ll be equipping them for success with backpacks from Coca-Cola and books from the World Literacy Foundation. Together, we’re ensuring kids have the tools they need to walk confidently into their future!

We need volunteers in many capacities such as greeters, shoe fitters, shoe sizers, sock distribution, backpack and book stations.

Event Details:

• Volunteer Arrival Time: 7:20 AM – 7:30AM – Coffee, water and donuts will be available to all volunteers.
• Volunteer Briefing: 7:45AM
• Event Time: 8:15 AM – 11:30 AM

FAQS:

What should I wear? Plan to wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in – jeans, slacks, fingertip-length shorts, and sneakers.  If you are serving as part of an organization, company, church, etc., feel free to represent your group by wearing a T-shirt bearing your group’s logo.

Is there an age limit to serve? An adult must accompany all volunteers under 16. This is a fun and impactful way for you and your team, family, and friends to make a difference and give back to your community so please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who you think might be interested.

Each volunteer is required to provide a valid driver’s license or photo ID to enter the school. Please have your ID ready before registering, as you will need to upload it during the registration process. This will expedite your entrance into the school.
