We are seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven leader to serve as cityCURRENT’s Nashville Market President. This role is responsible for growing and leading the Nashville market by building strategic partnerships, strengthening community engagement, driving revenue, and representing cityCURRENT throughout Middle Tennessee.

cityCURRENT connects businesses with the community to “power the GOOD” through events, media, and philanthropy. The name symbolizes the electric current powering GOOD in the city.

We help corporate partners achieve ROI from community engagement by fostering opportunities to develop purpose-driven relationships that lead to business and city growth, marketing and brand differentiation, personal/ professional development, turnkey volunteer opportunities, and more.

Our teams in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, focus on those regions, but we also support efforts and host events in other cities, including our signature speaker series in Fort Worth, Texas. We’ve been serving the Mid-South since 2005 and Middle Tennessee since 2018. We started hosting our signature speaker series in Fort Worth in 2023.

cityCURRENT is powered by Higginbotham Insurance and Financial Services and operates as a charitable arm and privately funded community catalyst. Our corporate partners include some of the world’s largest companies, such as FedEx, AutoZone, International Paper, and Smith+Nephew, as well as mid-size and small businesses. Each corporate partner is exclusive to their industry and geographic market and pays annual dues that fund our events and philanthropic efforts.

We host over 300 events each year, ranging from our signature speaker series featuring national guest speakers to workshops and seminars, executive lunches, social mixers, a golf scramble, and more. These gatherings bring together business, nonprofit, education, government, and faith leaders to share resources and ideas, build relationships, and collaborate for community impact.

We offer turnkey, meaningful ways to give back and serve in the community. This includes volunteer days, nonprofit and school tours, fundraising events, board placements, and action projects. Past efforts include tutoring youth, washing the feet of thousands of children and providing socks and shoes, scrubbing graffiti, coordinating a citywide cleanup with 12,000+ volunteers, and giving a mortgage-free home to a wounded veteran.

Our media shines a spotlight on GOOD news. We host and produce weekly radio shows in Memphis and Nashville that air across 9 Cumulus Media stations and reach over 600,000 listeners. We host and produce multiple TV shows, including The SPARK and The SPARK Awards, the cityCURRENT show, and specials like Arts in the Airport, and the ChangeMakers podcast. We have published two books, Giving Back with Purpose and Giving for Growth, contribute to Forbes and The Business Journals.

We also have GROWTHcurrent.com, an eLearning platform for personal and professional growth. Individual subscribers access virtual events, speaker archives, learning modules, and more. GROWTHcurrent extends our mission to a global audience and supports our philanthropic work.
