PRIZM: The power of using chamber music to build a diverse community.

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Gavin Wigginson, Executive Director of PRIZM, who highlights the Memphis, Tennessee-based nonprofit organization’s mission and efforts to build diverse community through chamber music education, youth development and performance. Since 2005, PRIZM Ensemble has been working with underserved Memphis communities, through both in-school and host site programs, opening doors to musical access and opportunity.

During the interview, Wigginson talks about the importance of their work focused on diversity, opportunity and access, and how students and the community can get involved, like with their PRIZM Music Camp and International Chamber Music Festival, which provides opportunities for young musicians to learn together with peers from across the city, developing life-skills, while working with a diverse faculty of musicians recruited from across the world.

He wraps up discussing upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and other ways the community can support their efforts, like with instrument donations for students.
