Corner to Corner and The Academy Program supporting entrepreneurs

Co-creating economic equity with underestimated Nashvillians through knowledge, tools, & networks!

Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Jasmine Lafayette, Director of Program Recruitment with Corner to Corner, who highlights the community-led nonprofit organization “co-creating meaningful economic growth with historically underestimated Nashvillians through knowledge, tools, and networks.”

During the interview, Jasmine talks about the history and focus for Corner to Corner and discusses The Academy, which is an exclusive 10-week program designed to equip underestimated entrepreneurs with the skills they need to plan, start, and grow their own small business. Corner to Corner has helped more than 1,000 underestimated entrepreneurs, and Jasmine shares some examples of the entrepreneurs who have graduated from the program and how the program is creating a much larger impact in the community, creating wealth, jobs, and more investment back into local neighborhoods. Jasmine discusses their goal of launching 10,000 Black Businesses in 10 years and why that’s important. She talks about their Academy Alumni and the power of being in community together, continuing to learn and grow. Jasmine wraps up talking about ways the community can get involved and how those seeking to enroll in The Academy can get started.
