Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Larry Powell, board member with 4:13 Strong and the Social Justice Impact Award recipient with the 38th Annual Mary Catherine Strobel Volunteer Awards hosted by Hands On Nashville.
During the interview, Larry shares his personal story of adversity and how after serving time in prison he turned his life around through ministry and giving back to help others. He talks about his service with 4:13 Strong, a nonprofit providing faith-based job training and placement, housing, and independence for at-risk 18- to 30-year-old men in Middle Tennessee. 4:13 Strong operates under the simple and powerful belief that every man deserves a second chance to do great things. He shares how he is personally helping men transform their lives and opens up about how the loss of his children is a driving force to help mentor and guide youth, along with their parents, in a positive direction. He talks about the need for kids to feel loved and how the community can get involved to help make a difference.
