Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Amy LaGrant, Board Chair for the Alzheimer’s Association Tennessee Chapter, who shares her personal “Why” for supporting the nonprofit organization’s efforts and mission to “lead the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia – by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.”
During the interview, Amy discusses how the Alzheimer’s Association is the largest nonprofit funder of Alzheimer’s disease research, and how the progress and treatments her father hoped for are being made and are now possible. Kelley talks about their advocacy and support programs and the importance of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, which is the organization’s largest fundraising campaign. She highlights the event in Nashville on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at First Horizon Park with the gates opening at 7 AM and the ceremony beginning at 8 AM.
Amy discusses some of her favorite parts of the experience and how it builds a community of support. She wraps up by sharing some tips for caregivers and talking about how the community can get involved in supporting their efforts and the events.
