Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Larry T. Robinson, CEO and Founder of KUDZUKIAN, and Executive Director of KMG (KUDZUKIAN Media Group), who shares the story of launching his Memphis, Tennessee-based audio and visual content production company and then a separate nonprofit to help other nonprofits with storytelling, media and event production.
During the interview, Larry shares the meaning behind the name, KUDZUKIAN, and how his company got its launch in podcasting in 2014. He talks about partnerships and some of the shows he and his team produce, including “I Was Told There Would Be Snacks: A Nonprofit Podcast” with the Tennessee Nonprofit Network, “The Journey,” and “R&R on Sports.” Larry then talks about their work to launch the Grow Tennessee Network (GTN), which is an innovative, multi-platform media initiative created to revolutionize the agricultural sector by merging modern content production with rich, diverse agricultural stories from Tennessee. GTN serves as a dynamic platform where agriculture, urban culture, and cutting-edge technology intersect. Larry discusses the four shows featured on GTN and how everyone can access the shows and network through the Grow Tennessee Network app on their televisions or phones. Larry then talks about The Boys of Color Conference (BOCC), which is a powerful, one-day event designed to uplift and empower young boys of color from grades 3-12. Taking place on March 29, 2025, the BOCC provides a unique opportunity for over 500 boys to engage in educational workshops, mentorship sessions, and interactive activities that promote leadership, personal growth, and wellness. With a theme of “Nourishing Futures”, the conference aims to inspire attendees, equipping them with skills and insights to overcome challenges and pursue brighter futures. The event is organized by KUDZUKIAN Media Group, The Gentlemen’s League, and The Journey, all of which are committed to building stronger communities and fostering success in youth. Larry wraps up by detailing how the community can get involved and support their efforts, support the Grow Tennessee Network, and The Boys of Color Conference.
