Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Jeon George and Tyler Neilson, Co-Presidents of Future Business Leaders of America at Collierville High School, who highlight the organization that brings business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the largest career student organization in the world, helping mover 250,000 members prepare for careers in business each year. FBLA High School helps high school students prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs.
During the interview, Jeon and Tyler share how and why they got involved with FBLA as students at Collierville High School and how the competitions and experiences have helped them grow personally and professionally, shaping them as leaders, and increasing their confidence, business knowledge and skills. They share some of their favorite experiences, including placing 5th at nationals this year, and talk about how the networking, learning, and service opportunities have opened their eyes to the importance of volunteerism and getting engaged in the community. They also talk about how the community can support their efforts, especially in fundraising to help them pay for the opportunities to travel and compete in the different programs.
