Nashville: 10/9 – Volunteer Opportunity: Shoe Distribution at Johnson Elementary
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Join us for a meaningful morning of service at the Johnson Elementary shoe distribution! cityCURRENT in partnership with Franklin Special District is coming together to make a difference—one pair of shoes at a time.
Together, we’ll help provide brand-new shoes and essential resources to 300 students, giving them the confidence and support they need for a successful school year.
Through this special event, students will receive brand-new shoes provided through Soles4Souls, dental hygiene kits from Delta Dental of Tennessee, hats and gloves from Coca-Cola Reyes Beverage Group, and books from the World Literacy Foundation. Together, we’re helping ensure children have the tools they need to walk confidently into their future.
We need volunteers in a variety of roles, including greeters, shoe fitters, shoe sizers, sock distribution, backpack and book stations, and more. No experience is necessary—we’ll provide all the training you need!
Event Details:
- 8:45 AM Volunteer Arrival Time (coffee, water and donuts will be available)
- 9:00 AM Volunteer Briefing
- 9:15 AM – 11:30 AM Shoe Distribution with Students
FAQS:
What should I wear? Plan to wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in – jeans, slacks, fingertip-length shorts, and sneakers. If you are serving as part of an organization, company, church, etc., feel free to represent your group by wearing a T-shirt bearing your group’s logo.
Is there an age limit to serve? An adult must accompany all volunteers under 16. This is a fun and impactful way for you and your team, family, and friends to make a difference and give back to your community so please feel free to share this invitation with anyone who you think might be interested.
Do I need identification? Yes. All volunteers must provide a valid driver’s license or photo ID to enter the school.
